Ms. Carlsson was born in Napa CA and raised in Ukiah where she
attended Ukiah High School. She marched in the award winning Wildcat
Marching Band directed by Rowland Nielson playing glockenspiel.
Ms. Carlsson attended college at Mendocino College, BYU- Hawaii Campus,
and Sonoma State University. She has earned an AA in Child
development and a BS in Liberal Studies with emphasis in Chicano
Studies. She attended post graduate school at Utah Valley University
earning a Master’s in Curriculum and Assessment with emphasis on
Bilingual Education.
She has lived in Hawaii, Paraguay, and Argentina.
She has taught all 12 grades, been a homeschool coach, taught 5th
grade immersion school, English as a second language and preschool.
Ms. Carlsson Loves seeing kids of all ages learn new things.
She is an avid quilter and canner. She loves to teach homemaking arts
during summer school. She loves to travel and has toured the Mayan
ruins of Mexico and Belize.
