Summer Denton, Kindergarten

I am so lucky to have grown up in this beautiful valley among my friends and family. I am honored to now be able to teach the children of old friends and new at the same school which I attended.

Kindergarten is a fun year for the students!

The learning adventures that we will be taking on through the Common Core Standards will be truly enlightening and engaging. I acknowledge the fact that we all have different learning styles, strengths and weaknesses and ways of communicating.

In kindergarten we will learn all of our letters and their sounds so we can learn to read simple books. Learning our alphabet also opens the door to becoming excited writers. Working with numbers and real-life problems is a great way to make math meaningful to students.

I am happy that we get to experience this year together and learn from each other. I am excited to get to know my students and their families. Keeping school and home connected is important for a fantastic year!
My ultimate goal every year is that children graduate from kindergarten loving school!
