LEADERSHIP
Leadership is a course designed as a place to plan and work on student activities, learn the qualities of being a leader, help address student issues, and give back to the community. Students will learn what it means to be part of a team, working together to improve the school. Students will also work on personal growth as a student leader and developing their strengths. The leadership experience can be rewarding and fun, but also very demanding. Time outside of class, working on activities, will be a requirement for this course. Because we use class time for meetings, and working on projects, attendance is a huge component to this class. It is important for each  student to be dedicated to the class and willing to occasionally step out of their comfort zone.

Academic Expectations and Evaluations:

Participation and Attitude     75%
Assignments                         25%

The grade for participation and attitude will be given in the form of a 10 point participation grade
at the end of each period, each day. If a student is absent they will need to make up these points
by volunteering for the amount of class time missed, or on occasion doing work assigned by the
teacher at home. Assignments that help develop qualities in a leader will be given once or twice a
quarter and will be graded based on level of completeness. These will be slightly larger projects
and will need outside class time to be able to complete them.
