Mr. Silva was born and raised in Mendocino County, and went to school everywhere from a one-room schoolhouse in the hills without electricity to the teeming halls of U.C. Berkeley. At Ukiah High, Mr. Silva was a wrestler and played football under the legendary coach Chris Burris (NCS Champions). After high school, he attended Mendocino College, Sonoma State, and U.C. Berkeley, eventually getting his Master’s Degree in History at SSU. After getting his master’s, he has done high-level study at Dartmouth, Yale, Stanford, and recently Harvard
2022 is Mr. Silva’s ninth year as a proud Bearcat, and has taught everything from pre-algebra to leadership, and he has also been an instructor at community colleges and a university lecturer. He loves to share his passion for learning for generations of Bearcats, and hopes that they remember the values and philosophy that make this community and this country great when they leave school.
