Dr. LuzElena Perez
Potter Valley Community Unified School District is pleased to welcome Dr. LuzElena Perez to our district. After an extensive Superintendent search Dr. Perez was selected to join the district based on the excellent skills and experience she possesses. She will begin her tenure with the district on Monday, May 18, 2026. Dr. LuzElena Perez brings more than 28 years of distinguished experience in public education, serving in a wide range of leadership and instructional roles, including elementary teacher, K–12 instructional coach, principal, director in three large school districts, and assistant superintendent. Her extensive experience also includes service with the California Department of Education and as an adjunct faculty member at several universities, where she has supported the development of future educational leaders. Dr. Perez earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Master of Public Administration degrees from California State University, Fullerton and her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from University of California San Diego. As the daughter of Colombian immigrants, Dr. Perez is deeply committed to educational equity and multilingual learner success. Spanish is her heritage language, and her personal and professional experiences continue to shape her dedication to serving diverse communities. Outside of her professional accomplishments, Dr. Perez and her husband, Dennis, will soon be celebrating 25 years of marriage and take great pride in the achievements of their two daughters, Monique and Clarice.
La Dra. LuzElena Perez cuenta con más de 28 años de distinguida trayectoria en la educación pública, desempeñándose en una amplia variedad de funciones de liderazgo e instrucción, incluyendo maestra de primaria, coach instruccional de K–12, directora escolar, directora a nivel distrital en tres grandes distritos escolares y asistente superintendente. Su amplia experiencia también incluye servicio en el California Department of Education y como profesora adjunta en varias universidades, donde ha apoyado la formación de futuros lÃderes educativos. La Dra. Perez obtuvo su Licenciatura en Ciencias PolÃticas y su MaestrÃa en Administración Pública de California State University, Fullerton, asà como su Doctorado en Liderazgo Educativo de University of California San Diego. Como hija de inmigrantes colombianos, la Dra. Perez mantiene un profundo compromiso con la equidad educativa y el éxito de los estudiantes multilingües. El español es su lengua de herencia, y sus experiencias personales y profesionales continúan inspirando su dedicación al servicio de comunidades diversas. Fuera de sus logros profesionales, la Dra. Perez y su esposo, Dennis, celebrarán 25 años de matrimonio y se sienten profundamente orgullosos de los logros de sus dos hijas, Monique y Clarice.
