Our Junior High and High School PE programs take a broad approach to Physical Education. The Junior High covers foundational skills and adapted sports to prepare students for the High School course.
The High School PE class 1 & 2 participate in a variety of individual and team sports and activities, ranging from traditional to minority sports. This includes: Archery, Basketball, Volleyball, Softball, Rugby, Tennis, Badminton, Martial Arts, Orienteering and Outdoor pursuits, Dance, Fitness, Coaching, and much, much more.
Students can substitute one year of their 2 year PE graduation requirement by playing 4 seasons of sport (full season=2.5 credits).
Mr. Calvert was born in Scotland, grew up in the Netherlands, moved to West Africa and now lives in California. The Hague University is where he got his Bachelor’s degree and his Master’s at California Baptist University. He has been teaching at Potter Valley for 6 years and is the academic adviser, leadership teacher, P.E teacher and soccer coach. Before teaching at Potter Valley he taught at Mercy Ships Academy. A few things he enjoys about Potter is how small the school is and the personal relationships he has with the students.
Mr. Calvert is also our Junior High and High School Academic Counselor.
